ABOUT THIS PROJECT

BEACON POINT HOUSE

The Beacon Point house is an addition to a holiday home situated on a residential acre section in Wanaka, New Zealand. The project consists of a series of social and private spaces which face onto a new courtyard swimming pool and is surrounded by Wanaka mountain ranges at either ends. The demolition and new 200sqm addition resulted in a building that seamlessly integrates with the exisiting 1960’s European-Styled modernist house. One of the features of the house is a large glass pavilion area which faces east over the courtyard and pool area, catching the morning sun and views west out to the mountain ranges to Mt roy, Black Peak and Rob Roy Glacier. The project was completed by John Deuchrass in conjunction with Bossley Architects.
